Hauliday Fun: Fresh Sugar Cravings

Beauty-obsessed as I may be, I’m really not a big fan of lipstick. I’m more of a light gloss/tinted balm kind of gal, and one of my all-time favourites in the tinted balm category is the Fresh Sugar balms. What’s not to love? They’re moisturizing, have SPF, come in range of pretty shades, and are really just an awesome low-maintenance option for lip colour. They also come in beautiful packaging; the satiny metal tubes are a thing of beauty in and of themselves. Also, they have this sugary lemon scent that really reminds me of those Peek Freans “Nice” cookies that I always used to get at my Great Grandma’s house.

It includes the original Fresh Sugar balm as well as Sugar Berry and Sugar Cherry. I’m not disappointed. Next time I’m near a Sephora, I will definitely be getting Berry in full-size!

Darn it, now I’m craving those cookies, and a quick Google search reveals that, like so many awesome beauty products, they’ve been discontinued! Oh well, at least I’ve got the Fresh balms to help me get my fix.

Have you tried the Fresh Sugar balms? Which one is your favourite?

And I’m not exactly sure why that is. It’s as though whatever biological mechanism that tells the Canada goose to fly south also tells me to start reaching for products to create my quintessential fall look. The products change from year to year, but the look remains the same: a bronzy smoky eye and a plum/berry lip. I see this look popping up on beauty blogs and in style magazines every fall, so I know I’m not alone on this one.

Below is a sampling of the products that I’ve been using this fall…
