When I first saw this Dior quint on Sephora, I think I drooled a little bit. I thought: look at those rich, silky neutrals. I must have it!
As it turns out, it is a very nice palette, but the texture of some of the shades is not as rich and buttery as I expected. The standout shades are the medium, slightly taupe-y brown in the centre and the dark plummy brown in the lower right. Those two have excellent colour payoff. The centre shade is truly exquisite. It has a smooth, buttery texture that is rare among matte shadows.
The other three shades aren’t bad, but they’re not great either. They have a slightly drier texture and aren’t quite as pigmented as I thought they’d be. It’s funny, because I bought this palette along with a Chanel quad on my trip to Vancouver last month, and I thought that this Dior one would be my fave and that the Chanel one would be just so-so. Turns out the opposite is true. I adore the Chanel quad, and this one is just so-so. Click through to see swatches.

I’ve written a full review of the Dior Fusion Mono Shadows here, but I wanted to update and post some swatch pics of my newest acquisitions: #661 Météore and #381 Millenium. I love them both, but I think Millenium might be my favourite. It’s a very multidimensional shade, taupe in some lights, khaki green in others. I think it’s one that would be flattering on almost anyone. Météore is a slightly coppery golden beige with LOTS of sparkle. I’m obsessed with these! They’re so quick and easy to use, and they make a big impact with little effort.

So…I went to Vancouver this weekend…and this happened:

I’ve already fallen in love with a few of these products, the ones that I’ve tried so far. I will be testing these things out over the next little while and will be posting full reviews very soon. Stay tuned…
I just finished cleaning my makeup brushes, something I try to do at least once a week. While I was swirling those bristles, I thought to myself: there sure seems to be a lot more brushes to wash than usual. Then it dawned on me that that’s because I’ve been testing out a lot of new products lately, which of course means experimenting to find just the right brush for each product. Several different brushes were dirtied while testing out the product pictured to the right: Diorshow Fusion Mono Long-Wear Eyeshadow in “Hypnotique.”
I’ll do just about anything for a treat from Sephora, even cat-sit. Recently, my sister went out of town and left me in charge of her two fur babies. My reward for feeding them and making sure they didn’t wreck the house? A couple of goodies from Dior.
A few years ago I tried the Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm, and I loved it so much I used it up. So naturally, I was excited to try the new Cheek and Lip Glow, a gel stain that, according to the Dior website, “reacts to the moisture in the skin and lips to give them a luminous custom pink glow.”
I’ve been testing this product out all week and am ready to share my thoughts.
