If you saw my April Favourites post, then you might remember I mentioned a new addition to my skin care routine: Olay Regenerist Night Resurfacing Elixir. I love this stuff. It’s a light, fluid serum that hydrates and exfoliates. (It contains one of my favourite ingredients, glycolic acid.) This stuff just does wonders for my clog/blemish prone skin. It also illuminates and makes a nice glowy base for makeup. Since I’m now obsessed with this stuff I did what I always do: prowl the skin care aisle in all the drugstores to see if it’s on sale so I can stock up. What I found when I got there, though, was alarming. The Resurfacing Elixir was nowhere to be seen! There wasn’t even an empty spot on the shelf! London Drugs, Superstore and Walmart all yielded nothing.
I did a Google search to see if I could find out if the product was discontinued and couldn’t find any info, so I sent an email to Olay (Procter and Gamble). This was their reply:
Thanks for contacting P&G.
I’m thrilled to hear that you love the Regenerist Resurfacing Elixir. However, I’m so sorry, but Regenerist Resurfacing Elixir has been discontinued, and it’s no longer available. Generally, decisions to start or stop making products are based on consumer demand, so feedback like yours is extremely valuable. Please be assured I’m sharing your disappointment with the rest of our team.
Since the product you loved is gone, you may want to try Regenerist Night Recovery Cream. I think you’ll really like it.
You may also want to check our brand websites for information about our current products. You might find a new favorite!
Thanks again for writing Olay. We appreciate your loyalty.
So I guess my first bottle of this wonder-serum will also be my last. Disappointment isn’t quite the word. I would greatly appreciate it if Whitney could share my rage and despair with the rest of the Olay team.
I ordered a couple of backups from Amazon. If you love this stuff as much as I do, you’d better do the same, because it’s about to disappear forever.
